Hradiště lies in the south of Pilsen 2 by the river meander, and its shape is an inheritance from industry: two hammer mills were founded here in 1686 and a settlement of ironworkers grew around them, which gradually became a residential quarter for workers from the Pilsen factories. Today just under nineteen hundred people live here in roughly four hundred houses, and the housing is mostly smaller older buildings.
Smaller older houses
The houses here tend to be compact: one upper floor, two or three rooms, an attic and a cellar.
