Why by seats and not by metres

On a corner unit the work is decided not by length but by the number of seats, backrests and armrests — and above all by the number of joints between them. It is in the joints and under the cushions that the interesting things live: crumbs, pet hair, coins and dust a vacuum cannot reach. An eight-seat unit has more such places than two separate sofas put together, even though it takes up a similar area.

The corner and the mechanism

The corner is usually the most worn part of the whole unit: it is sat on the most and never moved, so nothing has been cleaned under it for years. If the sofa folds out, we open the mechanism and clean the inside as well — on pieces slept on every night, that is where the difference shows most.

Drying

Three to five hours with a window open: extraction pulls the water back, so the upholstery is left damp rather than wet. Book a morning slot and you sit on your own sofa that evening. Removable covers we do not wash — those go in the machine, while the foam beneath them is cleaned in place.

What goes with it

Most often the armchairs and chairs from the same set, or the carpet under the sofa: the machine is already there and no separate trip is needed. Full rates are in the price list.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the price by seats rather than length?

Because the work is in the seats, backrests, armrests and the joints between them, not in metres. An eight-seat unit has more of those than two sofas of the same total length.

Do you open the sofa bed?

Yes, if it folds out we clean the inside too. On sofas slept on every night that is where the difference is most visible.

How long does the sofa take to dry?

Three to five hours with a window open. The water is pulled back by the same machine, so the upholstery is damp rather than wet.
